2D / 3D Animation

Flash Animation

A Flash animation is an animated film which is created using Adobe Flash. It is often distributed in the .swf file format, but not always. The term Flash animation not only refers to the file format but to a certain kind of movement and visual style. With dozens of Flash animated television series, countless more Flash animated television commercials, and award-winning online shorts in circulation, Flash animation is everywhere these days.

Google Sketchup

SketchUp is a 3D modeling program marketed by Google and designed for architectural, civil, and mechanical engineers as well as filmmakers, game developers, and related professions. The program allows placement of developed models within Google Earth.

Audio / Video Editing

Audio Editing

Audio Editing is the process by which a multitude of recorded sounds are combined into one or more channels, most commonly two-channel stereo. In the process, the source signals' level, frequency content, dynamics and panoramic position are manipulated and effects such as reverb may be added. This practical, aesthetic or otherwise creative treatment is done in order to produce a mix that makes it more appealing to listeners.

Video Editing

Video Editing is the process of editing segments of motion video footage, special effects and sound recordings. Music tracks and titles are added, effects can be created, and the finished program is "rendered" into a finished video. The video may then be distributed in a variety of ways.

Conversion / Compression

Conversion is the direct digital-to-digital conversion of one encoding to another. This is usually done in cases where a target device does not support the format or to convert incompatible or obsolete data to a better-supported or modern format. Conversion is commonly a lossy process, introducing generation loss; however, transcoding can be lossless if the input is losslessly compressed and the output is losslessly compressed or uncompressed. The process of lossy to lossy conversion introduces varying degrees of generation loss.

This process can be necessary in either pre or post-production. It all depends on what the source footage is and what the end result production needs to be. DMEx has multiple tools to convert from any format to any format.

Once multimedia is converted to its final format, it usually needs to be compressed. Most compression is lossy — it operates on the premise that much of the data present before compression is not necessary for achieving good perceptual quality. For example, DVDs use a video coding standard called MPEG-2 that can compress around two hours of video data by 15 to 30 times, while still producing a picture quality that is generally considered high-quality for standard-definition video. Compression is a tradeoff between disk space, quality and the cost of hardware required to decompress the video in a reasonable time.

DMEx can compress any file to any specification needed with our vast array of Compression tools and knowledge.
